The Soleá Project
Abrepaso Flamenco’s Soleá Project is an interdisciplinary, long-term project that examines what soleá means through performances and workshops. The flamenco rhythm known as soleá functions as a starting place, exploring why the rhythm is considered the “mother of all flamenco styles” while simultaneously delving into experiences of loneliness, isolation, and solitude in the 21st century.
Abrepaso is currently partnering with the Children’s Grief Center in Albuquerque, NM conducting workshops for children as part of this project.
