About

(Des)Encaracolarse uses flamenco to explore the ways in which we enshell ourselves and the transformation that takes place when our shells break. Layering poetry, classical music, and visual arts with flamenco, these world-class artists take the audience on a journey through the curves and spirals, echoes and reflections in the metaphor of the seashell. The title comes from a word Pablo Neruda invented to show his obsession with shells.
