Inspired by the sights and sounds of the streets of Sevilla, Spain, Dibujos takes the audience on a journey through the winding cobblestones of Southern Spain through flamenco music and dance. From the Moorish and Jewish architecture to the sun-filled plazas, to the sounds of street musicians and singing spilling onto the street from an apartment overhead, Abrepaso Flamenco sketches the streets of Andalucia through this intimate flamenco performance. Along with world renowned flamenco singing and guitar, the work features award-winning accordion player Sam Reider. Abrepaso Flamenco adds new layers to the traditional flamenco sounds, as artistic director draws on her experiences living in Sevilla. The performance emphasizes the myriad of cultures that created and continue to influence flamenco today.
